Xiaomi, the Chinese electronics giant has officially launched Xiaomi Mi 4s and Mi 5 at a special event being held in China. Both the devices are the successor of the Xiaomi Mi 4 which was launched in January last year. Xiaomi Mi 5 is the company’s latest flagship device priced 1999 Yuan (US$306 / Rs. 20,969 approx.) and Mi 4 is the mid-range device priced at 1699 Yuan (US$ 259 / Rs. 17,832 approx.).
XIAOMI MI 4S FULL PHONE SPECIFICATIONS
Xiaomi Mi4s flaunts a 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 441 PPI. It has dual SIM support and is powered by 64-bit Hexa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor combined with Adreno 418 GPU and 3 GB RAM. The device runs on MIUI 7 on the top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow build.
Coming to storage front, Xiaomi Mi4s comes with massive 64GB internal storage which is further expandable with the help of MicroSD card slot. Connectivity features include 4G LTE with VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and USB Type-C port.
For imaging, the Mi 4S offers a 13 MP rear shooter with dual-tone LED flash and PDAF (phase detection auto-focus) and a 5MP front-facing camera for video calls and selfies.
The device is backed by a 3260mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology.
Coming to price and availability of Xiaomi Mi4s – It is priced at 1699 Yuan (US$ 259/ Rs. 17,832 approx.) and is expected to go on sale starting from March 1st in China.
XIAOMI MI 5 FULL PHONE SPECIFICATIONS
Xiaomi Mi 5 boasts a 5.15-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD curved display and is powered by all new 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor aided by Adreno 530 GPU and 3GB/ 4GB RAM. The 3GB RAM variant comes with 32GB or 64GB internal storage options, while the 4GB RAM variant comes with 128GB internal storage.
Xiaomi Mi5 has Dual SIM support with both SIM slots accepting nano size cards. The device runs on MIUI 7 built on the top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow firmware and is backed by a 3,000mAh built-in battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology.
On the connectivity side the Xiaomi Mi 5 offers 4G LTE with VoLTE (Voice over LTE), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band (MIMO), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. For Imaging there is a 16MP rear camera shooter with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX298 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, 4-axis OIS, 4K video recording. It also comes with 4MP front-facing camera with 2um pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, 80-degree wide-angle lens to fulfil the selfie requirements of the user.
Along with the regular sensors Xiaomi Mi 5 packs Fingerprint and Infrared sensors to provide additional security and functionalities to the user.
Price and availability of Xiaomi Mi 5
Xiaomi Mi 5 with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at 1,999 Yuan (US$ 306/ Rs. 20,9669 approx.) and the 64GB storage variant is priced at 2299 Yuan (US$352/ Rs. 24,135 approx.).
Coming to Xiaomi Mi 5 with 4GB RAM and 128 GB storage, it is priced at 2699 Yuan (US$ 413/ Rs. 28,312 approx.) and is expected to go on sale starting from March 1st in China and there are no reports on its global availability.
